It was the day after they raised the debt ceiling…

and I was in line at a local supermarket getting money orders for rent and out of nowhere the woman in front of me starts talking to me about how great it was that Gabbrielle Giffords cast the first vote in the house…saying how she cried because everyone clapped for her. 

"She’s lucky to be alive." I say to her…

She continues to go on about how she was from Tucson and how she remembers her being her representative.

"She’s in better shape than our economy." I say sarcastically.

The woman gives me a dirty look, says nothing and turns around…

I guess when you can look past stories of human condition / human interest and sensationalism and confront the reality of the situation, some people take offense.
